TRADE NOTICE NO. 06/2016-17/CX-BEL DATED 20.07.2016

Sub:  Reduction of Government litigations – providing monetary limits for

    filing appeals by the Department before CESTAT/High Courts and Supreme Court – reg.

 

 

Attention of the Trade and Industry is invited to the Instructions dtd. 17.08.2011, 17.12.2015 and 01.01.2016 issued vide F.No.390/Misc/163/2010-JC by Dy. Secretary (Review) and Joint Secretary (Review). The copy of the instructions can be obtained from the website cbec.gov.in.

                        The Central Board of Excise & Customs has fixed the following monetary limits below which appeal shall not be filed in the Tribunal, High Court and the Supreme Court:

                1.                              CESTAT                                                Rs.10,00,000/-

                2.                              HIGH COURTS                                     Rs. 15,00,000/-

                3.                              SUPREME COURTS                             Rs. 25,00,000/-

 

Accordingly the list of proposed withdrawals/withdrawn cases of CESTAT/High Court below the threshold limit has been uploaded on the website of the Belapur Commissionerate viz.  www.cexbelapur.gov.in for information to the concerned assessees who are the respondent in all such cases.

                                                                                  All the Trade associations are requested to bring the contents of the notice to their member in particular and the trade in general.
